Privacy Policy

We do not collect your data

Bragueta has no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, no account and no licence server. Nothing about you is collected, stored or transmitted — not to us, and not to anyone else.

This is not a promise we ask you to take on trust. Bragueta ships without the network entitlement, so macOS itself refuses to let it open a network connection, in either direction. You can check it: in Terminal, codesign -d --entitlements - /Applications/Bragueta.app lists everything the app is allowed to do, and the network is not on the list.

Your archives stay yours

Bragueta opens the archives and folders you choose, and only those. Their contents, their names, their checksums and the safety inspection are all worked out on your Mac and never leave it. It does not scan or index your disk: every file it reads came from a dialog you drove, a file you dropped on it, or one you double-clicked.

Two things Bragueta keeps on your Mac, both local and both yours to delete:

• A short list of recently opened archives, so it can offer them again. macOS issues the bookmark that lets the app reopen them; nothing is copied.
• Archive passwords, but only when you tick Remember. They go to the macOS Keychain, never to a file of ours, and Settings › Passwords › Forget All Passwords removes every one.

The Finder menu and Quick Look

The Finder menu and the Quick Look preview are small extensions that run on your Mac under the same sandbox, and without network access either. When you choose Compress or Extract in the Finder, the extension passes the app the name of the command and nothing else; the files themselves are handed over by macOS.

Purchases

The full version is an in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple. The purchase and its check are handled by the App Store service built into macOS, not by Bragueta — which is why the app can sell it without having network access of its own. We never see or store your payment details, your Apple Account or your name. What we receive from Apple is aggregate sales reporting: how many sold, in which country. Apple’s handling of your data is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Whether you own the full version is decided on your Mac, by asking macOS for the purchases signed to your Apple Account. There is no server of ours involved, and no profile of you anywhere.

Children

Bragueta is an archive utility and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We will not start collecting data without saying so here first.
